Therapy Coverage for Eligible Children, Teens & Young Adults

Through grant funding, Kane Counseling Services is able to provide up to four therapy sessions at no cost for qualifying children, teens, and young adults.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, family challenges, school stress, or another life difficulty, we're here to help remove financial barriers so you can begin receiving support.

Funding is limited and available while grant funds last.
Am I Eligible?
While every application is reviewed individually, you may qualify if one or more of the following apply to you:
✓ You are under the age of 26
✓ Your family is experiencing financial hardship
✓ You have no insurance
✓ You have insurance but high deductibles or limited mental health benefits
✓ Cost has prevented you from starting therapy
✓ You or your family could benefit from counseling but need temporary financial assistance

Because every family's circumstances are different, eligibility cannot be determined over the phone. Each application is carefully reviewed to ensure grant funding is distributed fairly and according to program guidelines.

Overall program guidelines
Most applications are reviewed within one to two business days after all required information has been received.
Step 3: Once your application has been reviewed, we'll notify you of the decision by email. If approved, our Client Care Coordinators will help you schedule your first therapy appointment.

Appointments are typically scheduled about one week out to allow time for the review process.

If you're not approved, we'll help you explore insurance, private-pay, or other available options so you can still access the care you need.
Step 4:
If approved, you'll receive up to four grant-funded therapy sessions with your therapist.

If you decide you'd like to continue therapy afterward, we'll help you transition to insurance, a sliding scale option, or another payment option that best fits your situation.
As part of this grant program, therapy services are provided by one of our associate or intern therapists, who work under the close supervision of experienced licensed clinicians. This model allows us to extend grant funding and provide quality care to more children, teens, and young adults in our community.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I qualify?
You must be under age 26 to qualify for this voucher. Further qualification is based on several factors, including age, household financial circumstances, insurance status, and available funding. Because every situation is unique, we can't determine eligibility before reviewing your application.
Can you tell me if I'll be approved before I apply?
No, we cannot. Every application is reviewed individually after all required paperwork has been received.
How do I know if I qualify?
No, we cannot. Every application is reviewed individually after all required paperwork has been received.
Why is it necessary to complete a financial assistance application?
The Youth Therapy Grant is funded through grant dollars with specific eligibility requirements. The application helps us determine whether you qualify so funding can be distributed fairly to families who need it most.
Who reviews my application?
Each application is personally reviewed by our experienced Billing Specialist to ensure every applicant is evaluated consistently and fairly.
Do I have to use my insurance?
No. Some families who qualify do not have insurance, while others have insurance but still face financial barriers because of high deductibles or limited mental health coverage.
Why do I need to complete a Release of Information (ROI) and speak with an insurance broker?
The Youth Therapy Grant is designed to help you begin therapy by covering your first four sessions if you're approved. As part of the program, you'll complete a Release of Information (ROI) that allows our insurance broker to review your insurance benefits and contact you if needed. This helps identify any available coverage or payment options for ongoing therapy after your grant-funded sessions have ended, making the transition to continued care as smooth and affordable as possible.
How many free sessions does the voucher cover?
Approved applicants receive up to four therapy sessions through the Youth Therapy Grant.
What happens if I want or need more than 4 sessions? Can I schedule more?
The grant covers your first four therapy sessions, and those are the only appointments that can be scheduled while you're participating in the program. Once all four sessions have been completed, you're welcome to continue therapy using your insurance benefits, private-pay, or another approved payment option. At that time, we'll help you transition your account and schedule any future appointments.
Can multiple members in the same family apply?
Yes. Each individual must complete their own application, and eligibility is determined separately.
